Isolate
Separating one enemy from their team's heals and cover to force an isolated 1v1 situation.
Focus only works on an enemy heals can't reach, and isolate is the act of creating that precondition on purpose. Physically cutting an enemy isolated on an off-angle or a flank away from their team lets you force a locally favorable engagement even while it's still 5v5. If Collapse is "everyone folding onto one point," isolate is the setup that pries the target off the pack before the fold. Where a Pick is "killing an isolated enemy on your own," isolate is the deliberate design that manufactures the isolation itself.
In dive comps, when the flanker goes first and pulls the target to where the enemy supports can't cover the sightline. Pulling the enemy tank off their team on an off-angle so backline heals can't reach.
The one player committing to the isolate ends up isolated themselves and gets picked instead. The team doesn't commit immediately to the cut-off enemy, supports rotate back, and heals reconnect.
Off-angle
Solo position offset 60–120° from the main formation, enabling crossfire while taking minimal return fire.
Flank
Taking a secondary route to enter the enemy backline or blind spots.
Crossfire
Two or more shooters hitting the same target from divergent angles so no single piece of cover blocks both.
Dive
High-mobility composition that bursts down enemy supports and disengages immediately.
Collapse
Multiple players converging from different angles to instantly surround and eliminate one target.
Pick
A solo kill before or at the start of a fight that gives your team a numbers advantage going in.
