Concentrating heals and boosts on one ally to give them a structural advantage in their duel.
By stacking healing onto one point instead of spreading it, you structurally favor a pinpoint duel (a Widow mirror, Soldier, etc.). But everyone outside the pocket runs dry on resources, so who to pocket and when is a macro judgment — does winning that duel win us the fight? — and it is a different thing from mindless overprotective healing (healbotting). Combinations like Mercy + Widow and Bap + Sojourn are seen constantly in pro play.
When your Widow or another sniper DPS has the favorable matchup. When you judge that winning that one duel is what moves the game.
Everyone outside the pocket dying, so the pocket returns nothing. The support tunneling on the pocket, taking focus, and dying.
Resource Trade
Spending a minor cooldown to force a major defensive one, netting an advantage for the real fight.
Crossfire
Two or more shooters hitting the same target from divergent angles so no single piece of cover blocks both.
Off-angle
Solo position offset 60–120° from the main formation, enabling crossfire while taking minimal return fire.
Burst Heal
Choosing between a single large heal to pull an ally back from the kill threshold versus a steady trickle.
Flex Support
A support pick like Ana, Zen, or Bap whose damage output, debuffs, or utility swing fights beyond healing.
