Sustain War
A standoff where both teams' healing output exceeds incoming damage, preventing kills and prolonging the fight until the balance breaks.
The moment the sustain meshes, raw damage cannot settle the fight, so the decision switches to either "building burst that outpaces the healing with anti / focus / off-angles" or "pulling back and resetting". It is a stalemate that shows up constantly in Brawl matchups at OWCS, and failing to recognize it means shooting endlessly and burning nothing but resources. Landing anti-heal to break the sustain one-sidedly, or concentrating focus on one point so the burst exceeds the healing ceiling, are the basic ways out. The longer a sustain war drags on, the more evenly Ult charge accumulates on both sides, so whichever side breaks out of it first gains a large Ult advantage.
The moment you recognize that damage and healing are trading evenly in a Brawl matchup, switch the decision to either landing anti-heal to break the sustain or taking a Fight Reset. Deliberately forcing a sustain war to burn the enemy's resources before pushing in hard is also a valid play.
Not recognizing the sustain stalemate and just keeping the trigger down, burning resources while Ult charge builds evenly on both sides. Or missing the window to use anti-heal, so the enemy's sustain never breaks before the fight ends.
Fight Reset
Choosing to disengage from a stalled or losing fight in order to rebuild formation, cooldowns, and HP.
Resource Trade
Spending a minor cooldown to force a major defensive one, netting an advantage for the real fight.
Wombo Combo
Stacking multiple ultimates within one second to bypass defensive cooldowns and wipe the team.
Anti
Landing Ana's Biotic Grenade or similar anti-heal on a key enemy to zero out their healing economy.
Heal Check
Tickling the enemy with damage to observe whether their supports react with heals — reading backline attention and resources.
