Numbers Advantage
Outnumbering the surviving enemy (e.g. 5v4). The baseline from which all fight risk is calculated.
OW2 fights are essentially a game of creating, holding, and cashing in a numbers advantage, and the moment you go up a body is the window to commit hardest. Up a body, take space immediately and push in; down a body, don't force it — dodge the Stagger and play for the reset. Taking the advantage and then burning time without cashing it in is the dividing line from the lower ranks. A 5v4 is worth committing on out of any formation, no matter how bad.
Right after taking a body with a Pick or a Stagger. The moment an enemy goes down mid-fight. When the Ults/CDs to break a 4v4 stalemate are up.
Not recognizing the advantage, not pressing the fight, burning time, and letting it go back to even. Over-pushing while ahead and eating the counterattack once the enemy links up with the respawn group.
Stagger
Delaying an enemy kill so they respawn out of sync with their team for the next fight.
Stagger Snowball
A chain of staggers where one team can't regroup, losing 2–3 fights in a row before recovering.
Fight Reset
Choosing to disengage from a stalled or losing fight in order to rebuild formation, cooldowns, and HP.
Space
Physical control over the favorable parts of the map — high ground, routes, sightlines.
Pick
A solo kill before or at the start of a fight that gives your team a numbers advantage going in.
Collapse
Multiple players converging from different angles to instantly surround and eliminate one target.
