Control Point Flip
Stepping onto a point the enemy controls in a Control map to halt their percentage gain and flip ownership to your side.
Because Control banks percentage continuously, you can freeze the enemy's percentage progress just by putting one foot on the point to stop the flip, even without a full kill. Unlike a contest (stopping), a flip refers to the moment of reversal where you take ownership back and start banking your own percentage — a beat specific to Control. Around 99%, a single solo touch can be the play that decides the match. Landing a flip off a pinch or a distraction swaps the initiative in the point battle, and often carries the round outright.
When the enemy has banked a high percentage and the fight won't produce a full kill, commit one body onto the point to flip it and freeze their percentage. On the push right after winning a fight, flip the point outright and start banking percentage from there.
The lone player going in for the flip gets isolated and staggered, the percentage never stops, and the round goes. Attention on the flip leaves the main fight running 4v5.
Pinch
Pressuring the enemy from two directions at once, splitting their sightlines and escape routes.
Space
Physical control over the favorable parts of the map — high ground, routes, sightlines.
Tempo
The initiative — who gets to choose when and on whose terms the next fight starts.
Contest
Staying on the objective under numerical disadvantage to stall the enemy's guaranteed progress or win.
99% Stop
The critical 99% moment in KOTH/Flashpoint where a single contest call can force overtime and reset the win.
