LOS Break
Stepping into cover to break enemy sightlines, forcing a reset of incoming damage and lock-on abilities.
Almost all damage, plus healing, Discord and Anti, is premised on a sightline. You break it deliberately when pulling out at low HP, when avoiding the heal-bunker softlock where you die because your healers can't get a line on you, and when making the timing for a Mercy Res or a Mei wall. It doesn't just cut incoming damage — it's an aggressive disengage that forces the enemy to reset their aim once. The pro framing is that breaking LOS isn't running away, it's making the room to start the next engage safely.
Emergency disengage at low HP. Waiting for heals while Discorded or Anti'd. Taking high ground to secure a healing sightline to your healers.
Breaking LOS into a dead end with no exit and getting cornered. Focusing so hard on the LOS break that you join the team fight late.
Fight Reset
Choosing to disengage from a stalled or losing fight in order to rebuild formation, cooldowns, and HP.
High Ground
Elevated map position offering downward sightlines, cover, and safe retreat — the foundation of most setups.
Off-angle
Solo position offset 60–120° from the main formation, enabling crossfire while taking minimal return fire.
