Flick
An aim style for single-shot, high-damage heroes: swing the crosshair onto the target in one motion and land it.
The core aim style on heroes that either kill in one shot or deliver large burst value — Widowmaker, Hanzo, Cassidy, Ashe. Because you snap the crosshair onto a target from a direction you were not watching and fire, the cost of a miss is high — whiff and you eat return fire during the reload or the CD wait. The flick pros actually use in matches is not a wide, forced swing from somewhere they were never aiming; far more often pre-aim has already put the crosshair close, and the flick only completes the final micro-correction. Choosing between this and tracking (staying glued to the target, for sustained hitscan) comes down to the hero and the engagement range. More precisely: it is less that you switch between the two than that the required aim style is already decided at hero select.
On snipers like Widowmaker and Hanzo, or single-shot burst heroes like Cassidy and Ashe, pre-aim close to where the target is headed and finish only the last small correction with the flick. On scoped Widowmaker in particular, precision on the micro-correction flick to the head line is what separates players.
Missing repeatedly on wide flicks and handing over openings one after another during reload and CD. Or bringing flick thinking onto tracking heroes (Soldier:76 etc.), repeatedly going for one-shot attempts in situations that call for staying on target.
